Simplicity by Hikoo Mini Trunk Show!

Now through October 11, 2014

Along with a large shipment of Hikoo's Simplicity DK, Skacel has sent us the sample blanket from the Building in Color book and a few other fun items to display in our shop. Simplicity DK is a supersoft merino/acrylic blend, and a great value yarn that is an excellent choice for afghans, children's wear, and anything else that get's daily use. This machine washable wool blend feels like butter in your hands while knitting, but is a true "work horse" of a yarn.

Simplicity is featured in the book, "Building in Color," by Michelle Hunter. Similar to her original book, "Building Blocks", this book teaches various color knitting techniques, then you combine strips to make a blanket. If you are interested in adding some color to your work, this is the book for you! Carol Richmond is also teaching this class in October at Tangled Purls.

What's New Wednesday!

Cloudy skies and rainy days are for wrapping up in warm yarn.
Blue Sky's EXTRA is a lush baby alpaca and cozy merino blend
that works up quickly into shawls, hats, and cowls to ward off winter's chill.
218 yds  4-5 sts/in on US 7-9
Shown above:  Cane Bay Wrap, Sweet 16 Hat, and North Hollow Cowl.
We have the patterns.

Dyed in the Wool is a 100% bluefaced leicester wool from Spincycle Yarns in Bellingham, Washington, that looks like hand-spun.
All yarns are dyed in the wool, resulting in intense saturation and unpredictable color changes. Skeins within a dye lot will blend together beautifully for a larger project, yet every skein is one-of-a-kind.

Doesn't the Le Weekend Shawl look beautiful in it?
Le Weekend is a free pattern on Ravelry by pattern by Jan Henley.
What colors would you choose?
