What's New Wednesday!

 
The name Koigu is synonymous with hand-dyed excellence.
Founded by Maie Landra and based nearToronto, Canada,
Koigu has long been known for its fabulous color blends.
Our Koigu stippled yarn above is the dye pattern for which they are most reknowned.
 
We have more in Ducks and Beavers colors:
Koigu KPPPM - Painter's Premium Palette Merino
is light and soft enough to be worn indoors or out.
100% merino - 175 yds (fingering wt)
28 sts / 4" on 3(US)
Use it for scarves, gloves, hats, socks, etc.
Wonderful.
 
Another company known for its dye methods is Mountain Colors.
Based in Montana, Mountain Colors sock yarn is alive with color.
We have it in 425 yd skeins - 90% merino superwash 10% nylon.
7-8 sts/in on 1-3(US).
Fingering wt - socks, gloves, hats, scarves.

When the dog days of August hit us, working with cotton comes to mind.
NEW - Avalon by Cascade: 
In 50% cotton / 50% acrylic, Avalon is perfect for summer projects.
Lots more colors at the shop--come and see.
 
Cotton also comes in thread, usually used for crochet.
Did you know crochet cotton can be used for knitting, too? 
We have crochet cotton in sizes No. 10 and No. 30.
Carol knit this pretty doily using No. 30 DMC Cordonnet Cotton.

Alexandra Baldwin, the namesake of Alexandra's Crafts,
is one of the many talented hand-dye artists whose yarn we carry.
She's known for her bright color combinations in fingering to worsted wt.

We are partnering with the Salem Assistance League Auxillary volunteers
 as a donation site for its school supply drive this summer.
Can you help?
Donations are needed by August 24.  Supplies will be made available to school counselors
 for local kids duing the upcoming school year.
